The importance of a good teacher is tremendous as they play a major role in developing the overall personality of the students. These teachers do not only take responsibility to impart academic education, but are also dedicated inculcate the right values and principles to their students. This necessiciates the requirement of professionally qualified teachers in order to ensure right development of students for a progressive democratic society. The Department of Education of IIE was established in the year 2002. It offers B.Ed., M. Ed. and J.B.T. courses in Education. It is aimed at developing a global and a national vision for education in the modern concept. Having professional programmes, it focuses on comprehensive and integrated professional development of teachers and other personnel engaged in education. The Department has adequate physical infrastructure. Besides adequate and spacious classrooms, it has well-equipped technology, psychology, social science, mathematics, computer, language laboratories and a library.
The applicant should possess a Bachelor’s Degree (Medical, Non-Medical, Art/Commerce) with at least 50% marks for general category and 45% in case of SC, ST, and Ex-serviceman categories from a recognized university established by law in India.
B.Ed. course is affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla and Recognized by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
